Method
- Place the buckwheat, milk, cinnamon, salt and mashed bananas in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Cover the pan and reduce heat to low. (Keep on eye on it! Mine boiled over, even at low heat, so you may need to vent the lid.)
- Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, until the buckwheat is tender.
- Top with ground flaxseed and chopped walnuts.
- When it’s done, there will be no more liquid.
Notes
I added additional almond milk to my bowl (that’s also how I like to eat oatmeal). Enjoy!
